\n Anyone who follows a plant-based diet knows it all too well: the difficulty isn't finding a place that has something to eat. It's finding a place where what there is to eat is genuinely worth the evening out.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n At Al Lavatoio Bistrot, plant-based cuisine is not a fallback section of the menu \u2014 the kind that exists just because it has to. It is an important part of who we are, conceived with the same care as our fish dishes, using ingredients chosen one by one, with techniques that do not try to imitate meat, but rather to create something different and full of meaning.\n <\/p>\n\n \n

\n Near Rimini, away from the usual\n <\/h2>\n\n

\n Il Lavatoio is located in Santarcangelo di Romagna, 15 minutes from Rimini and a few kilometres from Riccione, Bellaria and Cesenatico. In the historic centre, in the spot that the people of Santarcangelo have always called \u201cAl Lavatoio\u201d \u2014 where the municipal washhouse stood until the post-war period.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n It is not a vegan restaurant in the strict sense: it is a Veg & Fish restaurant, where fish and vegetables coexist with equal dignity. Those who follow a plant-based diet find dishes designed for them, not adapted ones. Those who usually order fish often end up on the green section and do not regret it.\n <\/p>\n\n \n

\n What's on the menu\n <\/h2>\n\n

\n The section is called Eat Your Greens<\/strong>.Not a \u201cvegetarian menu\u201d, not \u201cveg options\u201d \u2014 Eat Your Green.\nThe name says it all: it is not a concession, it is a grown-up proposal.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n On the menu now: three plant-based crostini with red lentil paste, aubergine babaganoush, rosemary chickpea hummus.\nA coconut milk tom yum with purple potato gnocchi, ginger, red miso, peanut paste \u2014 a dish that takes you far away without leaving Romagna.\nA single-portion moussaka with grilled aubergine, seitan rag\u00f9, smoked nut fondue.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Monday evenings at the Lavatoio are the Green Monday<\/strong>an evening with a guest who brings their world to the table.\nProducers, plant-based food artisans, people with a story to tell.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n We\u2019ve hosted producers of hand-fermented vegan cheeses,\n those specialising in plant-based Indian cuisine, and those working with fermentation.\n Every Monday, we offer a changing vegan 100% special menu, featuring new creations and dishes\n that sometimes become permanent fixtures on the menu.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n The regular menu is always available \u2014 you can come just for that.\n Green Monday is an addition, not an alternative.\n <\/p>\n\n \n

\n In summer, in the garden\n <\/h2>\n\n

\n From June to September, the garden is open every evening.\n In July and August, without exception.\n Enjoying a vegetarian dish in the illuminated garden of the Lavatoio,\n in summer, is an experience that needs no further explanation.\n <\/p>\n\n
